Earlier this month, the 2nd Annual GLL Sport Foundation Golf Day took place at Panshanger Golf Club.
The day is an excellent way to engage with the GSF sponsors directly to ensure that they continue to feel connected to the scheme and continue to support the programme. It is also a good way to invite potential sponsors as they hear firsthand how the GSF directly benefits young talented athletes the majority of which do not receive any other funding. Sponsors who attended on the day were;
- Kyocera
- Selecta
- Taylor-Made
- Pumps and Motors
- Lyreco
- BT – potential sponsor
GLL Sport Foundation Ambassador Noah Williams (Commonwealth Games double Gold Medallist and Olympic diver) attended the day which included going round the course talking to sponsors and a Q&A after lunch. This part of the day is invaluable and all sponsors were very impressed with Noah and the discussions were relaxed but informative.
As well as the golf competition prizes the Sponsors were issued with a gift that they could take away back to their head offices to recognise their support to the Foundation which showcases to their staff and Clients how they support young talented athletes. This year a framed shirt of Birmingham 2022 was given which was surrounded by the 144 names of the competing athletes, 59 medals won from 12 nationalities. This goes a long way for the sponsors who were telling us that the Tokyo 2020 shirt they received last year has pride of place in their Boardrooms and that it is a real talking point.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to those who helped to make the day a success!
