Back on Track has vast experience and knowledge in high-performance sport physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and will provide an individualised care pathway from injury to return to sport. The team at Back on Track are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of a wide range of sports-related issues. With experience in treating professional football and rugby players playing at the highest level, Olympic athletes and hockey players, and top level amateurs in a range of sports, it is clear that the GSF athletes will be well looked after.
GLL Community Sports Officer, Meg Wallace outlined the importance of the partnership. she said, “Whilst we hope that no athlete becomes injured we understand that this is part of sport. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer this level of service to our athletes as part of the GSF provision and assist those that require this support to get back to training and competition.”
The team at Back on Track are excited about the partnership. They said, “We are delighted to be partnering with GLL and look forward to offering our expertise and experience to their athletes. We are committed and dedicated to supporting athletes as they strive for optimum performance and respond to the challenging demands of competing in high-performance sport.”
Commonwealth Games Gold and Olympic Bronze medallist Aidan Walsh was present for the announcement and provided an athletes perspective, he said. “As a GSF-sponsored athlete I am delighted to hear about this new partnership with Back on Track. It is reassuring for athletes to know that this professional service is on hand if we require it and further highlights the tremendous support that GLL are providing athletes in Belfast to ensure we can train at world-class facilities and compete at the highest possible level.”
The GLL Sport Foundation is an organisation operated by Charitable Social Enterprise GLL to support talented athletes across the UK. The programme seeks to bridge the gap in sports inequalities and give young athletes the opportunity to reach their potential.
